Information About AgateA type of Chalcedony, agate is differentiated by it's bands/zones of colour. It is found in many parts of the world, often in ancient cavities of lava and igneous rocks. Agate often follows the form of the cavity and may have quartz crystals at its center. Many commercial varieties are dyed or stained to enhance their colour.
