Agate Rings - Pattern and Earthy colours.

What stands out on Agate rings is the amazing patterns. And because it is abundant it is also very a affordable, most rings have a large stone - so that we can see the wonderful patterns. I have also read that rings with large stones make fingers look slimmer. Do you think that this is a fair comment?

Technically Agate it is the same a quartz but because it formed differently it looks different - very different.

Agate is microcrystalline variety of Chalcedony with concentric bands just like the rings of a tree trunk. These bands may sometimes appear as eyes, fancy scallops, landscape with dendrites (tree like structure) i.e.moss agate. Agate has a glassy luster, specific gravity of 2.60 & hardness of 7.

Agates come in many different colours most are earthy colours (Black, Brown & Gray) but one can also find other colours like blue (i.e blue lace agate)

At JG Jewellers you will be able to find Chalcedony that has wonderful bright colours - These stones have been professionally Dyed.

Agate is found everywhere in the world including areas such as USA, Nepal, Mexico, Italy, India, Asia, Africa, Brazil, Egypt & Germany.
