Septarian Pyrite Ammonite has come from the Latin word that is “saeptum” which means seven. The stone has very beautiful designs which are because of the seven cracks it tends to produce after forming mud balls.

This is a kind of stone that comes from a periods which is 50 to 70 millions of years from now. The current place on earth where the complete formation took place is in the Gulf of Mexico. Because of its age old characteristics and looks, the stone is very rarely available and is also very popular.

They are basically made up of Calcite and Aragonite along with Pyrite and Ammonite, The presence of pyrite is easily spotted by the silver or gold coloured frame effect on the stone.
