The gemstone is pre historic in nature and was first revered by ancient cultures. It was used an s a major barter material and was used in making jewelry. The gemstone is considered as a prized gemstone because of its golden sheen. The gemstone is vitreous and translucent in nature. It has a hardness of 5-5.5 on Mohs scale with an average specific gravity of 2.6. The gemstone is available in many places namely Italy, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Scotland and USA.
