What is Prehnite

Prehnite is usually green, grey, yellow and white colour. It is common to have a very brilliant colour that is unique to Prehnite. It can be translucent with several inclusions and white streaks.

Interesting Facts:

Prehnite can be confused with Hemimorphite. Prehnite is much harder and does not display blue through it. Prehnite is named after the Dutch Colonel, H. Von Prehn (1733-1785). It can give off water when heated. This water cannot be reabsorbed.
