What is Blue Topaz

Topaz is a mineral that can come in a variety of colours. Blue is a very popular variety of Topaz and the blue colour can be enhanced by irradiating and then heating clear stones.

Topaz is an extremely hard stone (8 on Mohs hardness scale) and is one of the hardest natural minerals.

Interesting Facts:

The name comes from Topasos Island in the Red Sea.
