What is AquamarineAquamarine is a pale blue to dark blue colour. The darker the colour the more highly valued it is. It is a type of Beryl which is a clear when it has impurities it changes colour. If it is blue then it will be names Aquamarine, if it is green then it is then know as an Emerald. Blue is more common than Green Some stones have been treated to enhance their colour. If heated too much, it becomes colourless. According to legend it has it's origin in the treasure chest of the mermaids,and has for centuries been considered a lucky stone for sailors.
