What is Ametrine
Ametrine is also known as trystine and is an uncommon variety of quartz. It consists of two minerals; Amethyst and Citrine. Often it displays rich purple to strong orange colours.
The reason why there are the two colours (minerals) is because during the crystal formation there was a temperature difference across the crystal (Amethyst being the cooler).
